Security for major global games Takes Center Stage in California
California is about to become epicenter of the world’s biggest sporting events. And with this global spectacle comes an unprecedented need for security and planning amongst public safety agencies.
Over the coming years, the state will host the 2025 NBA All-Star Game in the Bay Area next February, Super Bowl LX in February of 2026, the 2026 NBA All-Star Game Los Angeles, the FIFA World Cup across both the Bay Area and LA in the summer of 2026, and then Super Bowl LXI in February 2027. All of this will culminate in the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
In November, the California Senate Public Safety Committee and its leaders Senator’s Aisha Wahab and Steven Bradford hosted a critical conversation on California’s strategy for security while hosting major global games.
EGS is actively working with the host committees for several of these events to provide expert support to ensure the games run smoothly and are safe for all involved.
